Time has come,
To fly away, far from
The place you’ve known,
Your entire life.
Free falling into the open air
Adrenaline kicking in, and
Not knowing if you’re going to
Stretch your wings and soar,
Or fall to the ground and watch
Life pass you by.
Memories flash by from when
You were a baby bird.
You feel hopeless and confused.
You hesitate, afraid to fly.
But that’s not how she prepared you,
You’ve known your whole life
That this day will come,
To leave the nest and fly.
She’s prepared you to fly,
Without you knowing it.
You need to go now.
Spread your wings, Baby Bird,
And fly away from home.
In several months, we have to start brand new
Go to a bigger place alone and not know what to do
Eighteen years already gone, who knew?
We never realized how fast time flies
Will leaving be sad or exciting? We have no clue.
It's almost time to say our goodbyes.
Goodbye to those that have been there through it all
It won't be the same without you next fall
"I promise I'll call"
That's what they'll say, but the calls will soon come to an end
When they end, you'll want to bawl
No one wants to lose the person you once called your "Best Friend"
